Letting the guy in front of me know my intentions is important to me. So here's what I did to my 12-v front turn signals.

I drilled 2 holes in the light "holders."

I inserted lamp "receptacles." I used some epoxy gel on the backside to keep water out.

I inserted some 12-v LED's. I no longer use the type of LED lamp on the right. The lamp on the left is really bright and 2 of them is really, really bright.

The results are shown. The incandescent turn signal lamps on the rear make sure the flasher works. They are in the shade of the flatbed and are plenty bright by contrast.

So if you convert to LED's you still need the draw of an incandescent bulb in the circuit to actuate the flasher? Is there a way to swap to a different flasher that would allow having LED's throughout the circuit?

There are LED compatible flashers. Uses solid state components instead of a bi-metallic strip.

Back when I did this, those flashers weren't available or, more likely, my awareness level was pretty low.

Check the 3rd and 4th photos. That's a Montana blue sky reflected in the grill!

I put these flashers in my other rigs that I converted to LED and have had no issues.

I have a set to go into the 58 when I get that far as well.
