Can anyone recommend 6v LED headlights for my1950 AD? I'm looking online but mostly all I find are motorcycle headlights and then over the top expensive sets for modern vehicles
If it's because your current headlights are not bright enough, you have other problems such as poor grounds, bad connections, worn out wiring, wrong gauge battery cables, or wrong gauge wiring in the headlight circuit.
I use my truck as a regular vehicle and drive at night all the time. I'm frequently in areas without streetlights and my 6v sealed beam halogen headlights are as bright as any modern vehicle.
I rewired the headlights from the dimmer switch to the headlights a couple years back with new 12gauge wire and proper connections and a new junction block as original.
I bought these Wagner 6v halogen lamps from Classic Truck Parts. The halogens also look a lot better on the truck than the weird looking LED bulbs.
Last picture was taken a couple weeks ago. First pics were taken in October 2021 after I finished the wiring project.
Make sure your headlights are aimed properly or even new bright lights will appear dim from the driver's seat.

treydrummer, Welcome back! It's been a while since you last posted. Since your question is really of the electrical variety, I have moved your post over to the Electrical Bay for further help and discussion in the best on-topic forum. Others should be along soon to offer knowledge and experience on 6V LED headlights that you asked about.

I don't know if this is true but a friend told me LED headlights (in the 7 inch type) made for Harley-Davidson cycles will work in old vehicles and will replace the original type.

Are Harleys 6 volt? Seems like the sockets wouldn't match up with a 12v.

The problem with a lot of these is that the rear profile of the bulb won't fit in the automotive bucket. You can find ones with a rounded back (vs a squared one) but they are much less common.
How would the 12v Harley lights work on a 6v system?

Here is an example of what I was mentioning above. Both are LED headlights and have the same mounting surface, but the one on the right will fit in the stock buckets and the one on the left will not.
Be careful to get the ones that will fit if you want to convert.
