Ok, straight from POR-15 tech. Water should not form in a empty POR-15 treated tank. Its like an empty plastic tank(lawn mower/weed eater/snowblower). Those I drain completely for storage Now I know.
It fired right up today. It only sat 2 months drained. I moved it in the heated garage to do some more work.
I see alot of pics of trucks , but few actual photos of the owners. Put a name to face here. The old long hair country boy leaning on the 1959 panel after a hard day. Those pants and shirt all retired. Had to go the hospital for a few days with Takotsubo cardiomyopathy and low blood count. Blood transfusions and poked and prodded. Probably due to lack of Apache contact. IDK. But I am still kickin!!! I have a carb being checked out and will put it on with great enjoyment. When not wrenching you might find me up a tree with a stick
I cranked her up and drove and talked with Jeff Kendall. He was telling me about just losing to Kyle Busch in 2000 at Daytona. Those guys are nuts. I have never watched a Nascar race in my life, but glad to have such a man helping me with my trucks. We did a toe out. It was off.
This mural is on the wall when you walk in his shop. Thought Id snap a pic.
Passenger hinges needed freeing up for door adjustment proper. While I took the gray door off, I had this one ready to go. Now both doors are black. Whatever thats worth at the moment. Wednesday I get my 125CF tank for welding. Those lower panels need replacing.
Trees are completely flushed out here. Driving season never ends in the Deep South.

M-20 is much closer together. M-22 `s 3 rd gear is gold. Start out in and do 55 mph. Todays morning run ,.1959 panel www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r5A76EjLwo
I`ll ask here. I checked the interscope and did not find much. I wanted to know what years they used this Pitman arm? I thought 1947-59 .IDK for sure thanks.
On GMC trucks (what I have parts books for), 3728393 was used on non-power steering equipped 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks from second series 55 through 59. It was not used on 39-53 trucks. I don't have parts books for 54-55 first series, but if I were a betting man I'd bet those used the same parts as earlier models.

Well Durn!! That china made affordable aluminum radiator finally sprung a fin leak. I have another same that I took out of the black 58 because I did not like the on coming look contrast. So I run it till it goes and then get a real one. This one looks good and the welds look Ok. But still failed. Ozcooling?
It lasted about 1 year 3 months or in dog years about 7,500 miles.
No matter, swapped it out. Returning from the Git and Go for some anti -freeze and to the crib. You can see the old radiator leaning up. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA_bQp05R-s
Good pic of the pipe wrap over the flange and the motorcycle pipe shield extra to protect the power steering box. Heat check dropped it down 175 degrees with the shield already wrapped.
Full disclosure. I`ve been up in this engine bay before. But after crawling up in there to fix a slow leaking oil pressure tube, I musta put too much bigfoot pressure on the heater right angle 3/4 hose fitting. The cast iron water pump cracked there at the top and down. I tried to JB weld. No good. So this aluminum CFV water pump fit and completed the CFV setup. Alt ,Pump and PS pump. Except the water pump is black. Oh ,and I FINALLY straighten out the front grille. Man thats been bothering me.
After today I'd say this truck is officially a pleasure to drive. One hand laid on the wheel at 60mph. Still a tank!! I got a wave from the local smokey this morning. People are getting kinda used to me driving this Apache around. Camping trip soon.
Looks like you are well on your way to get the windshield ready to go in!

I think while its out, I`ll sand and primer the dash. Its right there and easy to get at. I think Wed is the install date. I miss driving my truck and its only been 2 days. Thats why my (bought 2017 Sept) 2018 GMC 2500 HD 4WD only has 16,000 miles on it!!
Wow, Billy. Did you have to do it by yourself? Any tips for getting it in? I know we get a lot of questions on putting in glass.

I did not put this in myself. My good neighbor again. I would not recommend someone try alone. I set it in with the rope and without. On these, I worked with 58/59 the rubber will roll over the inside. You can set the bottom in first and go from there. Its a left right left right getting the glass to work its way to set. Lotsa glass cleaner /soap. Rubber is your worst enemy here. If it catches and rolls back on itself ,it will not move. A pointy glass tool is important. I got the most done with someone slapping the outside where I had the rubber inner lip peeled out and down. This pulled down and in the ledges on the rubber seals are now at an angle and it just slides in after some slaps. Always fold up a towel and use to slap on. When the rubber rolls in and locks ,you know it.
