Personally, I'm more of a 3 wire guy, but connect your one wire to the battery post on the stomp starter switch.

Wiring the big alternator wire to the stomp starter switch puts the alternator wire upstream of the ammeter. Will this allow the ammeter to function properly? This is not a loaded question. I do not know the answer. My wife pays the electric bill because I refuse to because I never saw the electricity come in that they say I owe them for .

Make sure you put covers on those outlets that aren't in use, otherwise the unused electricity will just fall out on the floor and go to waste and you'll have to pay for it.

You are correct Carl. I was thinking of mine which has a voltmeter instead of an ammeter.
I think I'm hitting 0 for 3 today.

I put a volt meter in place of the ammeter in my gauge cluster that way the current does not go into the dash before the going to the starter. I followed the tech tips advice for that conversion and it works great. My one wire alternator goes to the starter battery post. I used a 10ga wire. I did a second volt gauge if anyone needs one.
Carl: I was responding to your statement "alternator wire to the stomp starter switch puts the alternator wire upstream of the ammeter. Will this allow the ammeter to function properly?"
And the answer is: The ammeter would NOT function correctly. A voltmeter does function correctly.

Starter battery wire to ammeter terminal. Other ammeter terminal gets wired to all loads including an alternator. If it reads backwards, flip the stuff.
If you have a volt meter, follow MFG instructions which is IGN SW hot to volt meter positive and etc.
