Hello,
I just acquired a 1946 Chevy 1 1/2 ton cattle truck. Needs a little work but it was still on the road just a few years ago. Brake seals are bad and the fuel pump may not be working. It does start with gas in the carb.

It's been a working truck on a small cattle ranch for many years. It has a dump bed and turn signals have been installed. Who knows how many miles. It appears to have a '53 engine in it.

Looking forward to learning what I can on here and sharing progress. I intend to take the racks off, just have a flatbed stake side and keep it fairly original. Deeper restoration... Who knows yet.

Welcome to Stovebolt. Ilearned to drive in a 46 pickup. Ive3 always wanted a big bolt but one never came my wsy. A truck will earn its way but a car is an abscess on your pocketbook!!
Be sure to check out the big bolt forum snd the other forums for any help you need. Thanks for the picture.

Welcome! Very cool truck! I've always had a soft spot for 46's. We had a '46 1 ton pickup when I was growing up.

Nice truck to start from. Just get it road worthy and usable then take your time and research your next steps. You’ll be able to find plenty good info here. 🛻

Please don't tell my wife how much this thing cost!

Welcome to stovebolt. Whatever you intend to do with it has been done by stovebolters on this site already. I agree with Donald's suggestion to just get it on the road and then make more detailed plans after you drive it for a bit. If you need help, just check in here anytime. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome to the ‘Bolt! Nice truck! We would love it, if you could tell us a bit about your truck, its history, your goals and what you have already accomplished (if any) on restoring your truck. And of course we bolters love pictures so include a few more.

Let me give you this helpful guide to help you navigate thru the different forums on Stovebolt.
