I have some seriously clapped out springs on the drivers side. As far as I can tell, there aren’t a lot of repair kits for folks wanting to keep things original. I’d happily fix what I’ve got and install new vinyl if I could.

There is a decent looking seat out of a 48’ for sale at a decent price. Anyone know if these are interchangeable?

I would look for a old seat from the proper year to replace the springs on your seat then you can recover the upholstery

There are plenty of places on line that sell replacement upholstery coil springs in various sizes. You can also buy the zig zag springs.

I am totally new to upholstery of any kind. Any time I’ve seen anyone talk about worn springs the conversation defaults to look for similar model years. For a guy up in New England, this is a tall order.

I was looking for a repair kit specific to our seats but came up with nothing. Are the zig zag springs and coils an exact match and pull right in?

I doubt you'll find a kit. You'll need to take the upholstery off your seats and measure all your springs and order whatever you need and re-assemble it.

As simple as these seats are, I'd contact a local upholstery shop - not necessarily an auto upholstery shop - and ask if they'd be interested in redoing it. They're essentially the same as antique chairs and couches.
