Hi,
I have a guide 6004 4 wire turn signal and am trying to figure out the wiring for it.
Colors are Red, Black, black stripe, and Red/Black stripe.
Wires I have going to it are left turn, right turn, turn switch feed, brake switch "power feed from output side of brake switch"
I keep finding wiring diagrams for the 7 wire switch and not the 4 wire.
I'm using a american autowire 510008 wiring harnes

4 wires. Hot with key on to the flasher. Hot from flasher to red wire. Black to ground. One stripe wire to left side turn signals, other stripe to right side turn signals.

What Jethro says makes sense if the ground is just there for the indicator bulb in the turn signal unit.

A 4 (or 3) wire turn signal unit like your Guide needs separate bulbs in the rear for turn and brake lamps. It will not support using the same bulb for turn and brake lamps in the rear. Your American Autowire 510008 harness expects to use a turn signal switch that does use the same bulb for turn and brake lamps in the rear.

Any Guide 6004 wiring diagram I can find on line is a 7 wire unit.

My black wire is grounded to the steering column.
I have independent turn signal lights separate from the stop/tail assemblies. My unit has 4 way hazard capability by activating both left/right together when pulling the lever out instead of left or right.
