With some help from some friends and family, got my old Stovebolt tailgate hung up on the wall at the house. I think it came out pretty well. It's that high so it's visible from the living room above the stairs.

Sweet! If I try something like that in my house, it mysteriously moves to a location less seen. Funny though, all of the decoration that is chosen by my wife doesn't migrate.

That would quickly find its way back to my garage, but it looks great to me! Nice job Kevin!

I like it!
Don’t think it would fly in the house, but my wife loves going out to the shop and spending time in her seat looking at all the stuff collected over the years.

My wife is thinking I can make a bench from the Tailgate from her '60 C10. I'm glad she has that much faith in my abilities dang

We had this on the wall (in front of my desk) for awhile. Some of you may have seen it in John's Project Journal entty. It's gone to the garage now since John is piecing some of these parts together. Too bad we didn't get a picture of the seat that was in the room for a few months. grin

That looks great and reminds me of a tailgate I no longer own. frown Made for a great picture though.

Looks like that might be a split entry house. If so, that thing is high enough that it's not going to migrate far without a lot of help!

Looks great!

I had a beat up, rusted out '52 tailgate which I sold to a random guy who needed it for a rat rod he was building. He offered me more than I thought it was worth. I accepted it. I soon regretted letting it go. It was from my very first Stovebolt. Sentimentalism set in.
Interestingly enough, he and I became good friends. Now I look at it like this, as much as I would like to have that tailgate adorning the wall of my Man Shop, I am more happy to have him as a friend. Now if I find out that he sold it for twice what he paid me for it, I will have to kill him.
You know what they say, "good friends come and go." I need to call him to find out. I let everyone know what happened with my highly prized tailgate. The good news could be that I may well have an opening for a new 'good friend'. Stay tuned.

Correct. It took me perched on a 16' ladder and my friends handing me tools and stuff to install the hangers. My wife is 5'-3" so I doubt that migration will be a problem.

Thanks all for the compliments.

Scooter, you should submit that pic for a calendar page. Looks good. I especially like the black and white version. thumbs_up

Thanks, I agree there's something about the B&W. Don't think it would meet the criteria for the calendar seeing as how it's not a whole truck though. grin

Wish I had the foresight to keep the tailgate from my '50 when we rebuilt it to do something like that. It is a one- family, two- owner truck and that would have meant a lot to me. Oh well, 20/20 hindsight.

Hey, that's up to Peggy to decide. I'll send her a link to your post.
