I recall some discussion a while back about why there were holes at the top of the door frame opening on an AD cab.
I was just searching thru Brad Allen's Flickr photos for something else and came across this photo showing assembly line cab welding. Notice the alignment jigs in the door and windshield openings.

If you haven't browsed thru Brad's photo collection, you're missing out. He has a tremendous collection of Chevy Truck stuff. His place must be like a museum. I'd sure like to be able to stop by and see him some day.
