I have a fairly original 49 that has what I think is the original tank. Maybe not. It has a drain plug hole on the front passenger side (bottom) of the tank. Anyone know what the thread size is? The plug is long gone. Thanks

I can check a tank that I have to see for sure, but my guess would be that it is most likely a pipe thread in order to seal the hole tightly. I have a look at mine to see if I can determine a size.

My tank located behind the seat is 1/8” NPT. However it’s located on the bottom center of the tank and not the passengers side.

EDIT: my appologies, I missed the part that this is for a panel. Different tanks. The drain however, might be the same thread.

I have 2 of those tanks here. I will see if I can get the plug out for you. They are not so easy to remove after 70+ years

It is going to take some soaking and some heat. Neither one are budging.
