I'm getting ready to paint the cab on a '53 3800 we have been working on forever. I'm not concerned with a super accurate color for the interior, but want to be close and use good quality paint. The original paint I can see is kind of a silvery light brown with some metallic in it. I see Jim Carter sells a color they call "semi flat brown", classic parts sells one they call "champagne". Is one of these better than the other or closer to original? Is there a better source? If possible I'd rather get something one of the vendors has rather than try to get something matched by our local paint supplier just for simplicity.
See what you think of the Behr Burnished Amber in this other thread. It's the dull finish with which I did some interior cab trim stuff. Got it from Home Depot.
