I'm at the reassembly phase with my 1946 1/2 ton pickup. I bought a set of front splash apron support brackets. I remember welding closed a couple of holes in the bottom edge of the panel below the grille 20 years or so ago which have since been covered with body filler. My bottom radiator shell baffle came off a larger truck in a salvage yard and has no threaded holes mentioned in a previous thread. I have no existing reference points to work with and I'm having trouble visualizing the correct locations for these brackets. Does anybody have a photo of a correct installation? Any help appreciated!
Pinetree, While I don't have some in person pictures I did find the exploded view of the 1941-46 Truck Grille diagram that may provide a little help. See the reoriented screenshot below so you don't have to look at your screen sideways. I'm sure others with 1941-46 trucks will be along soon with some pics of their trucks to help answer your question.

Pinetree Just to make certain we’re clear about the bracket in question, it would help to identify that part based on the drawing Dan posted above. I can then go through my photo collection to search for the correct view needed.
That particular exploded drawing does not show the support brackets. The brackets in question are 9 1/2" long and straight. Jim Carter Truck Parts FPF107. Very similar in appearance to rear fender supports. They would connect the bottom edge of 1.263 panel with somewhere to the bottom of 1.285 baffle. I just don't know where. One thing that I learned the hard way...don't fill in holes just because I don't know what they are used for!
Thanks a lot 46Sparky! That answers my question. Your 1/2 ton baffle is shaped a little differently than my salvage yard baffle. Apparently the holes that I remember welding up years ago actually didn't have anything to do with the support braces. Thank you Dan as well!
