Just stumbled over this.

Usually I'm not into turbos and injection, but never the less this is really interesting, just from a technical side, and how they solved some problems.

That video has been posted here about four times. The phrase "There's no substitute for cubic dollars" comes to mind. How many stovebolters can actually afford to build something like that, and for those who can, the burning question would be "WHY"?????? It seems it would make more sense to build in a moderate amount of power gain using off the shelf parts that a back yard tinkerer can afford, especially if those parts happen to come from engines made in the past 30-something years. Yes, it can be done.

As far as "Why?" goes. Why not? If they have the money and want to build something crazy, more power to them.

Would I do it? No, never. But there are a lot of things I do that other people tell me I am insane for.

As I said - I'm not into turbos, injections and stuff (though I have a water injection on one 261, but at least it is from the 50s)

But I found some interesting things in that clip, like what they did to the bearings - never saw that before.

I'm doing something similar, using small block 400 main bearings inside the original mains, with the crankshaft ground to fit. That makes the main journals the same diameter all the way back, and the 400 mains are MUCH less expensive, and more available.
