I installed new hood hinges from LMC Truck on my ‘57 Chev 3200. Hood will not fully close. It binds up 3-4” above latch. I’ve tried with springs off, all bolts loose, etc. Any suggestions? Also, even with old hinges the wings rub fenders while opening closing. I’d like to fix that before painting truck.

I actually taped my phone on valve cover and videoed. Then put orange masking tape on edges of hinges to find the rub. Ground off a bit, but still feels like a hard stop. Can’t force or bounce it down any further or I’m guessing the hood would bend. Hinge to firewall hood holes are round and spaced a bit different than original oval holes.

Update… I bolted a new and old hinge side by side on boards and decided the new hinges were the wrong length in a couple of places which caused the movement to be totally wrong. LMC offered to take them back for a restocking fee (it’s been a year) but I couldn’t do that in good faith because I ground a little on the passenger hinge in an effort to remove some rubbing. Plus, I put my old hinges back on and used the new springs.
