I was going to post a pic of my truck's backup lights, so out to the truck I went with my phone to take a pic. Turned on the ignition, put it into reverse and...........
one bulb was burned out? Hmmmmm, wonder how long this has been like this? Better check the truck's other lights.

Lesson learned, I hope. ohwell

Craig,

So what happened to the "picture" you were going out to take??? grin

I'm interested in seeing what you have for "back-up lights" on your truck as I eventually want to add some to mine too.

Regular preventative maintenance. Just sayin'.

State, then federal, requires us to do it every 90 days around here on the mids and heavies (above 10,000 lbs.) Critical items. Brakes, steering, lighting, leaks, air pressure, tire condition, trailer connections, etc.

I've always had a cautional eye at my rear view mirror. "When do you suppose was the last time that guy behind me checked the brake fluid level in his reservoir??"

Pre-trip inspection on class 8, thump each tire, turn on all lights and signals, check air hoses, glad hands and brake chambers, make sure the landing gear is fully retracted, king pin jaws locked? I check the duals on my '57 when I take it out, and the lights. Someday I might wire the back-up lights, they are integral to the taillights but I didn't run enough conductors to heat them up.

My wife was following me to work one day... she asked if I knew that one brake light was out? I ended up having 5 bulbs out.... and still had another burn out on me since!! they are only 18 years old!!
