The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors 54' Steering Column Assembly Help Needed

Need some help...I am reassembling the steering column on my 1954 Chevrolet 3100 and need to know where the spring goes in relation to the horn button and steering wheel. (the assembly and shop manuals don't show it)
Should it go between the steering wheel and mast bearing (under the steering wheel), or should it go between the steering wheel and horn contact plate (on top of the steering wheel)
