The issue is the clamping of the hoses to the RH inner fender. There are two small raised ribs on the inner fender about 1 ½” long and 1/8” wide. Both are vertical. My guess is that the double-hose clamp is next to the upper one for six-cylinder engines because the voltage regulator is on the firewall and, therefore, not in the way of the clamp and hoses. In contrast, for trucks with the eight-cylinder engine I suspect the clamp goes next to the lower rib because the hoses would have to go around the VR because the VR is about 2” forward of the upper rib. | | | | Joined: Dec 2019 Posts: 21 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2019 Posts: 21 | Just wondering if you ever got a reply to this old post? I'm looking for the heater hose routing diagram. Hand drawn or OEM schematic. Can't find one. I just finished rebuilded heater box and ready to install system. | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 4,387 Gearhead, Stovebolt Tech and Parts Tracker, Mod for Swap Meet and GTT | Gearhead, Stovebolt Tech and Parts Tracker, Mod for Swap Meet and GTT Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 4,387 | fly4, Can you take and post a picture of your installed heater box and hose connection, as well as the inner fender area where "dimples" mentioned by member "Gates" are in the original post? I don't have a GMC book/diagram, but do have a 1957 Chevrolet Accessories Installation Reference Manual with diagrams and descriptions of the hose install that might be of use to answer your question. Need your pictures to try and make sure what I provide is relevant. Dan
