My dash has a 3 x 9 cutout where the radio was. I know there is a repair panel that would solve my problem but I kinda like the idea of having the radio mount and a bin underneath that. Also makes getting at things behind the dash alot easier. Is there a bezel that would work here? or what would be a good option to get some music in my truck?

Why not just buy some portable bluetooth speakers and play from your phone? No need to install a sound system in any car these days.

No phone. I don`t do too much technology. That kind of knowledge ,I don`t need. Thats why I have an old truck, old guitars and amps. I got thru most of my life without a phone , I can finish out that way. lucky to figure out this computer. But thanks for the consideration.
Nothing I found in searching gives actual dimensions, so really hard to guestimate what may or may not work.
Maybe worth the small price to get one and try it out?
Do you have an "audio specialty shop" somewhere around you??? They might have a suggestion or two.

I saw that. Its for a 2x7 DIN standard, its close. Classic Car Stereo has a build option. I have reached out to them. Next step would to get a radio that will fit in the original locations/holes. I have the repair panel for the dash. But that was waaaay down the road, and needed something in the interim.
Here is what I came up with. Using a very rigid plastic 1/16th inch joiner, I cut the metal repair panel to fit after I squared up the existing hole with a dremel tool. It needed this to be welded anyway. But my dash will never be perfect and heating up that area would need to be closely monitored. So I searched for and found this joiner. Very solid!! One side is kinda has a round profile and the other side is straight and flush. Worked good with the slope to the dash downward and the straightness under the dash knobs.
That looks like it is going to work out very nicely. I keep hearing how they are using adhesives more and more these days in assembling cars and trucks. I wonder if there is something that would spare the use of welding metal.
I won`t use the vintage screen cover. I like to see the clock/radio station. Thing is loud enough in the panel truck. I still have to tuck away the speaker wires.
Thanks!! Little bit of work but its solid! I was just telling Peg how far back the seats will go. With those old Chevelle seats, they have a nice adjustments to distance. Too close or... you can`t reach the pedals. Handy with the Panel part. I put 2 PYLE speakers under the console, and there are 2 6x9`s under the seats.
Has anyone had an issue of the retro sound radio losing sound? I have the quad booster and the sound just quit. I`ve checked all grounds. Its worked perfect for 1 year till now. Do these have a history of failing with no sound? Radio and USB all run through the normal modes, just no sound. thanks!
My 1st guess would be one of your speaker wires has somehow grounded out. I would check all your speaker wires, then start further checks following their list.

Yep, I`ve been talking with a retrosound tech. Checked all those wires for grounding. I will bypass the booster tomorrow and wire one speaker to test just the radio as per his instructions. Its been fine for awhile now, and just today I was driving on a smooth road.. normal VOL and it gradually went silent. I have 2 trucks with these radios in them. always something..
