Hi all, I've had this truck only a couple of months.

I got the truck from peach tree in Georgia. It’s in pretty good shape. Runs well with no smoke. Body is solid with no rust. Needs new front springs which I'm about to order, and new spring shackles in the rear. Also needs the drive shaft seals replaced to stop, or at least slow down the gear oil leakage. I'm limited to using my phone right now and still learning to navigate the forum.

Look forward to sharing with everyone here.

Bill

Quick welcome here. Milton, FL ... anywhere near Base Housing. Our old stomping grounds when at flight school (USMC).

Looking forward to hearing more about the '50 and hopefully some pix.

Welcome to Stovebolt Bill! wave

Got any back story to go with how you found/acquired your "New (to me)..." truck???

Maybe some history about the truck?

Looking forward to hearing more on the truck. grin thumbs_up

Welcome to Stovebolt, Bill. Consider yourself at home. We're here to help, just post questions in the forums and then we'll do the rest.

Bill,

Congrats on already achieving full "Bolter" status! thumbs_up

Give this "sticky" thread on How to add pics... a look as most everything you need to know to get that done is provided in there. It's actually located at the top of this forums post listing. wink

Actually pretty easy to do on your phone if it is also where you pictures are currently located. If you really run into problems trying to post pics, put a post in the IT SHort Bus and ask for help. Lots of folks here willing to try and help you get that tool working for you.

Understood that doing some of the things in the forums on phones can be a bit challenging to some of us (like me and my stubby fingeritis - LOL). Just takes a bit of patience until you get the process down.

Looking forward to seeing your truck and more conversations in the forums! wave

Thanks Dan! Seems like a friendly group here. I appreciate it. I'll get some more pix up soon. I'm tidying up the wiring in the engine compartment right now.

Did you say "friendly?" You ain't seen nothing' yet. Try to drop by the Southern Bolters. And even in there, let the Florida truck owners know you are here!

Another "hey" to you.

Thanks Rich! Im having fun with her. Everybody waves and gives me a thumbs up when I drive her. I let ole Bill take er a spin around the feed store, and he was all smiles. Bill is 83 years old. He’s forgotten more about this truck than I know. Shoot! He was probably drivin one when he was 10. That’s how it was in those days. Thanks for the flowers

Thanks Kevin! Cant take credit for it though. It was like that when I bought. Ill get more pics up soon. Right now I have two broken front springs. Im trying to decide where to order new ones. They’re ranging from 109.00 to 250.00 each. I don’t want to spend money i dont have to, but I don’t want junk either. Any suggestions?

Bill,

Awesome job getting the pictures posted (next step is to add captions wink ) and very nice looking truck! thumbs_up

I now you already asked the question about "springs" in your Driveline forum post.

Very sure some folks will come along and reply in that thread on your spring questions. The Shop Area forums are the best place to post those type questions as the Welcome Centre is more about just introductions and Welcomes. wave

Talk to you some more in the forums! shake

Here’s a little more info on my truck. I don’t know the history of it.i wish I did, but it appears solid with the exception of engine and transmission leaks, and it needs new front springs. The engine purrs, and I’ve noticed no burning oil. It also shifts silky smooth. Has a high clutch, but there’s no slippage. Im fixing to add a bunch of pictures soon.

Bjstrudy - You already have a thread going on this topic in the Engine Shop.

Suggest if you are still needing help on that subject, you should reply further in that thread to request more help or clarification of what others have already offered.
