I have a 63 C60 with the typical brake issues with the booster under the cab, but finding a replacement booster is proving to be fruitless. I'm considering a build to move a more modern vacuum booster and master cylinder to the fire wall. Does anyone have any info on this being done before? If so, what matter cylinder was used?
I don't know any info (currently) on doing such a conversion.
However, I did come across this web page that applies to overhauling your '63 C60 Hydrovac.
The company noted in the web page still has an active web site and seems to still offer remanufacturing services. If you click the "Contact Us" link it provides an email address and phone number to reach out.
The article even indicates the original GM# 3874183 (Bendix 2501847) standard C60 Hydrovac part number. If you have the Heavy Duty Hydrovac, GM# 3874184 (Bendix 2501850) applies.

I looked a few days ago- - - - -there are dozens of rebuilt hydrovacs on ebay, including ones specific to medium-duty Chevy trucks. Most NAPA stores either have them in stock, or in a nearby warehouse. Anybody who can't find one probably isn't looking very hard.

Those pictures looks very similar to the picture I have a screenshot of below that came from my 1966 Chevrolet Parts Truck Illustration and Special Information Catalog.
That pic displays the diagram for a 1960-64 Series 50-60 model hydrovac unit, which corresponds to the part number info I mentioned above.
Any way you can provide a pic???

White Post Restoration told me that if any of the parts in my Hydro-Vac are not usable, they can rebuild it with stock they keep on hand, they had no reservations to take it in. I ended up rebuilding it myself after disassembly and finding it to be in good shape, works like a dream.
