The manual says to use a special tool to install the rear axle outer bearing on my 1952 Chevy 3100. Is it worth trying to find and buy this tool? I was thinking I could use a socket that just fits over the outer race of the bearing.

My dad always told me, "Don't force it, get a bigger hammer".

Yes, that's what I've always done...the socket, that is.
