I have heard some of the body panels that are being reproduced do not fit that well. I have a second truck that I am looking to fix but it needs doors, floor pan, inner and outer cab corners and most likely front fenders. It is also a 1957 GMC big back window.

No single source is the best. Some vendors have better products than others in certain areas and lower quality parts in other areas. You just have to shop around and ask about specific parts.
Nearly all mechanical parts are available from local chain stores and online sources like Rock Auto or ebay.

If you are also asking the question as it may relate to other mechanical/electrical parts of your truck, it's better to start new posts in the closest topic matching forum (Engines, Driveline, Electrical, etc.) in the The Shop Area of the site. Keeping the questions to a specific topic will get you better help and answers to your questions. Wherever you may post, please add pictures anytime you can. The fit is equal to the originals...anytime you fit up sheet metal that wasn't born on the truck you have to tweak things a little. I'm not a body man by trade and I think my trucks turned out ok. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of parts from Classic Parts of America, they always treated me right when defective things needed to be returned. Sell what you don't use. Lots of donor type trucks in the upper west U.S states. Don't forget they make patch panels for everything you mention. The 57 fenders have unique grille fit features, so patch or graph is a good option. To buy and ship "new" parts you mention with tax is around $4000
