I have received the pre-made seat material and also the padding kit, both from Classic Parts.
I think the seat covers are nice quality and they look strong. Better than I expected.
But, on the other hand, the padding kit is very disappointing, super light flimsy versions of each component.
I wonder if this was always the quality sold. I know it’s a cheap price, but I’m not sure i can even use it.
The “cotton padding “ is bunch of loose fluffy flyaway fibers, not even cotton, because I tested it with a flame.
It melted. Jute padding? A piece of very thin fiber felt. It’s like something you’d use for window displayI furniture . I don’t want to bad mouth the company, just wonder
if this is anybody else’s experience.
On another note I got ahold of some black acoustic matting at a garage sale. Made from re-cycled tire particles, that I
now plan to use in the cab floor and back etc. I plan to put a layer in the seat as well.
This product, Dura Cushion, is made as flooring underlay for padding and sound dampening.
It’s sitting out in the sun right now and I don’t think it makes a bad smell, so I’m trying it!
Pretty thin, with a light cloth backing. I like the idea of using the old tires!

I purchased a ready made seat cover from LMC for a 70s F-150 and the overall quality was good. Nice padding, pleats and backing.

I bought my seat upholstery and installation kit from Jim Carter. It was a good kit. I used some of the original jute padding as well as the stuff that was in the kit. I think it came out pretty well, and didn't have any trouble with the installation.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
