Hallo zusammen,

Claus

Hello, everyone,

Any other German crazy stovebolters here?

I bought a 1949 GMC 9300 with 235 cui. Didn't really want to do a full resto, but that's the way it is: you open a construction site, the next one comes and so on.

Now I'm standing there with a sandblasted frame and what feels like 1000 parts that somehow belong together again. I'll tell you: it's going to be a challenge, I respect it but I'm not afraid.

So get in touch if you also have projects running.

Claus

Hello Frank.

What do you drive for a US car? I have a F150 from 1984 and a full resto Chevrolet 3100 from 49. I have a few questions about this.
Sign up if you like. Greetings from Plattling.

Hello everyone, everyone,

Yep, there are even more crazy Stovebolters and screwdrivers who love old US classics.

My name is Brian and I come from the Rhine-Main area. I have been scouring the forum since November 2021 and got the best tips here. The people here in the forum have a lot of expertise and are very helpful.

I myself have a Chevrolet C60 Firetruck, 6.0 L, 366 CUI, built in 1966. The complete technology is new, brake, electrics, fuel, light, just everything. It's an event truck.

Pictures can be found here on our homepage: bäms.com

And I am currently working on a frame-off restoration of a Chevrolet C10, Stepside, built in 1970. Once you start to disassemble the cart, so many construction sites come together... It then simply makes sense to restore everything.

Have fun screwing and driving.

Greetings,
Brian

Was the fire truck used as a fire truck, in Germany? I've been to Europe but only France and some Italy. American cars were pretty rare there, let alone something the same vintage as my '65 C60!

Hello,

no, the C60 was not used in Germany.
It was used as a fire truck in California/Dixon until the mid-90s and was then used as a training vehicle.
After that, it stood in a corner for years and bummed around.
It was then shipped to Holland and we bought the C60 in Holland and completely overhauled it three years later.

Now it is used as an event truck. Here are a few pictures on the homepage.

Dixon, is that you in the video? Very cool. (I have to sneak under the block in the middle of the screen but it's enough to be able to see the video and hear the voice.) Even in that small space, the C60 looks great! Send some more pictures, if you are able. Please. smile
