Does anyone know if the dash of a'54 and '55.1 is secured by bolts/screws or is it welded in? If it's bolts/screws, could you give me an idea of where they are, please? I would like to try to take it out of the truck to sand the black paint and surface rust that's on it now and repaint (light color). Taking it out might be easier. Maybe? Thanks.

In the hope that more info may make this a little easier to digest, see the 4 pictures of relevant "instrument panel" welding instructions from the '47-'54 truck Factory Assembly Manual (FAM).
These may help should you decide to go after removing it for further work.
