Finally I succeeded in finding a good COE. It was imported to Norway from the US in 2011 and subsequently restored until 2014. It came up for sale in back in 2021 and I tried to buy it, but was not quick enough, a que had already form for it. I had since then given much thought to what happened to it. Around Easter a friend on mine in Norway manage to track it down and get in contact with the new owner (who in the end didnt really enjoy driving it) , and then suddenly things moved quickly with the result that I flew to Norway, Friday to collect it and take the ferry home Saturday. It is in a very good condition, but it needs a bit of detailing, I need the rubber stops for the hood, the dash trim in front of the driver, I could use a new front emblem for the hood, and other small bit. But now with a bit of servicing and TLC its ready to be back on road. Does anyone have good pictures of how the hood latches/locks look and work
We have a few Stovebolters here with nicely restored trucks like yours -- hopefully they will chime in soon with pictures and info for you.
Great score!

What an outstanding truck. I am sure folks will provide details and pictures as they can soon.
Be sure to let us know the specific parts you maybe looking for. Not sure how helpful it could be, but you can always post an ad in Truck Parts Wanted.

We B OLD It's never too late for a cream puff, you probably deserve it by now,if you can push the clutch in better go for it . My neighbor who is eighty got orders from his daughters to NOT sell his 51 stubnose chevy, cutest little farm truck out there !!! Survivor too.
Niels, I will get some shots of the hood latches on my truck tonight and send them to you. What is wrong with your hood emblem? I had my eye on one on EBay a couple of years ago. It was beautiful, NOS, in the original box and went for over $1500.00. Mine was terribly restored by a chrome plater many years ago and I have always wanted to replace it. I have a spare but it is badly pitted. I also have one that someone sent me that is broken in half:( Again, love the new truck.

Congratulations Niels: Now your a member of a small club, not very many pre war Art Deco COE's around! I have a spare hood emblem that I painted with chrome paint. I had another one re chromed that was in about the same shape, cost me $400. The pot metal parts are costly to get re chromed. Also sent several pics.
Hi all Sorry for the delayed reply, but work had been takling my time But thanks for all the comments. I had a look at the casting numbers on the engine and it’s from late may 54, which I think makes it’s a pressure lubricated.
The nose badge has lost a section of the passenger side wing, it’s not critical but if I could find a good replacement it would be nice.
I am missing the rods and the bracket that attaches the hood lock to the handle.
Does the brake return spring attached to the engine manifold or the chassis ?
I hope to have abit more time for the truck next week.
There are a couple of pictures in there that looks like your spring should attach to a bracket on the frame, not the manifold.
Hope this is a little helpful???

If their is a hole in the frame itself, that should be a bolt hole for mounting the "Z" shaped spring bracket that should be mounted there (see the other thread pictures).
If you check that earlier conversation, the last picture shows the bracket with typed dimensions you can use to fabricate a replacement bracket if yours is missing entirely.

Hi Dan It doesn’t have a hole in the chassis. But the eye in the manifold seems to do you the job.
That’s a nice looking combo, I like the two tone on the COE.
I fitted side indicators today and had it out for a test drive. I still have a slight issue with charging, I think related to the voltage regulator, the generator is charging 7,4V, but I only have a very small charge on the battery.
Wow, I'm late to the game but had to say it. Very nice, love everything about it. I Googled Vognmand, only thing I could find was Trucker, Hauler, Freight. Underneath Vognmand, S.Hornset. Any story behind the graphics, assuming they were on when you purchased?
Thanks. Yes the graphics where on door when I bought it, S. Hornset is the name of a previous owner, and Vognmand, is an older term used in the Nordic countries, for smaller haulage contractor companies.
Oh man. Such great looking Big Bolts! (Pictured and in the Bolter's signature lines.) Getting me a bit fired up to do a Big Bolts calendar! Gotta be large size!

Now with a small, but significant detail, a license plate It’s a lovey thing to drive, I did about a 100 miles the first days. It still can't decide if it wants to charge or not. I have made a tool locker for it to go between the second and third rear body cross member, and hopefully will have it fitted this weekend.
