I picked up a C-30 in Jan and have been working on straightening some things out. So far so good, but does anyone know what this is above the rear view mirror? There’s no wiring to it and it appears to be just a friction knob.

Wow! nice truck, my first vehicle in high school was a '67 C-10, had a transplanted 396/powerglide-a real sleeper. I have no idea what the knob is.

Yea nice truck. No deal on the knob. But what's up with the rubber type green around the rear view mirror mount?

I’m not sure, it looks to be the original mirror. My C-10 has a metal mount and doesn’t look like this one.

Was this truck born with a camper on the back? If so, maybe it's a rear camera or Garman GPS mount???

Nice truck!

Just a little thinking out loud, but have you removed it to see if it has wiring connections on the backside???

Camper Specials had an accessory option for a "camper" wiring harness which may have included a dimmable lighting control switch (???) or even a cab mounted speaker control (???) for radio piped back into the camper compartment.

Since your truck appears to have had the "camper" removed, that may be just a switch that was left to fill a hole in the cab roof when the wiring was removed???

Interested to see what you find by pulling that switch out.

The green coloring may be oxidation on old chrome, the copper base plating "bleeding".
