Welp!

We picked this up in September and finally I got the title in my name at California DMV.

It's a 1946 according to the tag, passenger door and rear window but the block is a 1941, based on the numbers.

Regardless now it's in our name and we will start in on it.

Wife wants to learn how, so it's gonna be a good time. I'm up on my tetanus shots - I'll verify she is, too.

The torque tube/ diff/ Abel and spare fenders are in the bed as well. If we can get the engine on frozen, we will be happy. It's gonna be a frame-off for sure.

Let the games begin!

Welcome

Looks like you have a great start with most of the pieces. Sometimes the biggest challenge is collecting all of the related parts for trucks this old.

A little strange to have an older engine than the chassis but I'm sure back in the day it was what ever was available.

Given this truck is a ‘46 and possibly / likely produced in the months just after WW2 ended, and civilian vehicle production restarted it seems possible the engine was manufactured just before the war started. Many of the 1946 production models used a variety of pre-war parts. My ‘46 was made in June that year with some of those parts.

This looks like an interesting project for sure. But for now, gonna move it to the DITY Gallery. We can all keep track of how you proceed there.

We'll be looking forward to some more posts from you! See you just got back on to Stovebot just this month! wave
