Basically, will the 1/2 Ton Fender 'Bolt On' to all the bolt holes on a 1.5 Ton? Here's why. I am 'Marrying' a 1.5 Ton Cab to a 1987 1 Ton Frame that has the 16" Tires. I don't like all the 'space' between the tire and fender and was wondering if the 1/2 Tons would bolt on since they are 'smaller' as far as the 'opening' goes. The hole in the pickup fenders would then be just as high as the hole in the original, but the fender wouldn't be tall enough to reach the running board or the front valence, but I don't have both to compare. | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 44 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 44 | The fenders are physically the same size except for the wheel opening. There should be no trouble bolting the 1/2 ton fenders on.

However, I am inclined to agree with Bob on this. The only difference, (I am hoping) is the larger wheel opening, for the 20" tires vs. the smaller ones. Timmer | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | The running boards are different. I just checked on both of mine and the big truck running boards are shorter and wider towards the front then the 1/2 tons are, they also have about a 4" difference in the height between them.
I know the hoods are identical.
The lower portion of the grill will not work as the fenders are about 4-5" taller on the big trucks. I measured both of my grills and there is a few inches difference between them.
The upper grill is the same in appearence but I havent measured other then eyeballing them. So if you find another grill, running boards and fenders you should be okay.
Good luck and let us know what you find! Jeff | | |
