I have a 1953 3100 that I finally revived the engine thanks to alot of help from this site.

Anyway my plan was to revive the engine and then strip truck to the frame and sand blast and re-paint the truck completely. Having never worked on a car until I bought this truck I am actually looking for a little bit of guidance if anybody knows of a reputable body shop in the greater Philadelphia area and/or if you have any tips for ensuring a fair deal at a body shop. I really just want everything prepped and painted. I will strip the truck down and re-assemble, but I feel a paint shop can do a much better job than what I can do plus they can address the couple of minor rust issues I have. I don't mind paying the right price for a quality job and think quality work deserves quality pay, but I have read alot about people getting taken to the cleaners with body shops and don't want a premium price with a sub par job.

Any advice you can provide would be appreciated.

Also I might be violating some rule by asking for references, sorry if I'm not supposed to do that.

William,
Welcome to the site!
I’m located in lower Bucks. Just stumbled across you and wanted to reach out.
You have found the best site that there is for old Chevy Trucks! Great folks that as you already witnessed, are more than willing to share their knowledge and even lend a hand!
Where about’s are you located?
Jim

Hey Jim,
I am in Abington so not far away. This truly is a great site with some very generous people.

I see you have a green '53 1 ton. Plan is to paint my '53 -3100 the original green as well.
