Hey guys. 1954 6400, it has an Eaton two speed floater rear axle. I decided to do a brake check before getting the truck off of the jack stands. I noticed a leak on the RR hub. Pulled the hub apart and bearings seem fine, although, the races look as if someone got a little too happy. I am completely unsure as to why these marks are in the races. Now, with that said, the are not easy bearings to find. Have any of you replaced originals with a standard tapered bearing and got away from these factory bearings. As I said, I can find bearing replacements, but not races. The seals I have found also don't seem to measure correctly. My seal measures 4.871, the closest replacement I found thus far is 4.881, that will never go, no matter what size hammer. Any input would be a huge help.

Hy Trainmna673, according to my Bower/BCA catalogue the tapered replacements for the Hyatt barrel bearing A11950 are M111048/M111012. The inner hub seal is GM p/n 3708819 that crosses to National 5453, give your supplier your seal dimensions to confirm that number is correct. This information is supplied assuming that the original rear axle is still in the truck, hope that helps.

Got everything apart today this is what I am showing.
Outer bearing Hyatt A11950
Outer race Hyatt 11950Y
Inner bearing Hyatt 12235Y
Inner race, still on rear-end snout, didn't have a chance to remove.
Seal is a Victor 49998

The Victor seal 49998 OD measures 4.822"
The National 5453 OD measures 4.881"
My hub measures ID 4.867"

When I get to the shop this evening I will get some more measurements and keep everyone posted.

Thanks again

Hy Trainmna673, Victor 49998 = National 417355. Hyatt 12235Y = set B12235YK whose components are M514546 and M514512, hope that helps.
