I've got a 49 Chevy Suburban that was a Utah school bus

Unfortunately at some point in its life it lost a rear fender, I have a good replacement that i'm looking to color match the paint

Does anyone know if there was a standardized School bus paint code used in that era?

The color, National School Bus Chrome, was standardized in 1939. It's same color is now known as National School Bus Glossy Yellow.

Be aware that it is illegal to drive a vehicle painted school bus yellow in a number of states.

I was going to say the same thing, but Mike is in the UK. I think if it still has the "School Bus" lettering on it, the authorities would definitely frown on that. I've seen a number of retired school busses still yellow, but with the lettering blacked out. Quite a few "camper" bus conversions up here.
Maybe they paint school busses a different color in the UK.
