i have a 59' 2-ton with the vacuum brake booster. in order to get the brakes to work i bypassed the booster, which allows me to drive it empty. If anyone has any info on how these old boosters work or info on rebuild kits for them it would be greatly appreciated! thanx!

My local BIG truck parts store has had Hydrovac's in stock everytime I've needed one. They cost about $250 with core. There is a brake rebuilder in St Louis (I think) that rebuilds them...can't remember their name. I've never found a source for the internal parts.

We had our local shop send it in and rebiuld it. Cost about $200. Very good money spent here.
