Hello! We bought our project truck in fall 2021 and after several weeks, got the engine cranked but had to stop after my mom passed away and other life events stalled the progress.
Now we’re back at it and going strong! Got some parts ordered and hopefully have the new fuel tank & lines in to keep her running, then going to work on brake system. Trying to decide if I want to keep drum brakes or upgrade to disc.
Here is my grandson Charlie beside “Georgia” (manufactured in Atlanta so it seemed fitting) right after purchase.

SuziQ, welcome to Stovebolt. Looks like you have a good jump on getting started. Just a few words of advice, don't completely dismantle "Georgia", try to plan your projects so you can still enjoy your Truck while you work on it.
The main thing is to get it running, stopping and steering SAFELY. Enjoy the time in the shop, I like that you're sharing this with your Grandson, Trucks are a great bridge between generations. Have Fun!!!
PS.. Since you're in Mississippi your a " Southern Bolter", be sure to check in at the forum. We have a great bunch of folks here.

TUTS, Thanks so much for the (much needed) advice and for responding! Trying to slow it down and make sure it’s done correctly but I’m impatient at times and get excited each time there’s a little progress made! 😀
I’m already loving the stovebolt community and looking forward to meeting other ‘Bolters!
