This full pressure engine does not have an oil distributor cover on the side that a low pressure dipper engine would have. See picture of three screw oil distributor below.
Wouldn’t the short push rod cover also tell you that?
Edit: just looked it upon Dave’s site and the answer is no. Here is a [LINK].

I have always heard there is some debate over whether or not full pressure 235’s came from the factory in 53 1/2T trucks built in Canada. This was the factory engine in my truck and it was stuck solid when I bought it in 2006 and I have left it untouched since I pulled it and put it on a stand after filling the cylinders with marvel mystery oil. Last night I pulled the plugs and it turns like it should, a candidate for rebuild for sure!!
I've looked at lots of AD 1/2 tons in Alberta in the 20+ years since I dragged mine out of the bush...every 1953 model I have seen had a 60 lb oil pressure gauge vs 30lb for earlier ones. My 1952 model had a short side cover 216...most US information indicates a short side cover as a 235.
I have 2 3835814 engines, one I know for sure is out of a 52 1T and runs like a top, the other is in a 1/2T frame but locked up solid. I guess I had always assumed they were 235’s!!
