the biggest bolt i can think of are the ones holding the front springs on, some where around 3/4 to 7/8". The rear spring use pins that are bigger yet, but arent bolts. The biggest nut on a bolt would have to the one on the pinion shaft, but the whole thing dont count as a bolt.

The biggest GMC iv'e ever seen was built for the military to haul tanks. I dont remember many of its details, expect that it burned several gallons to the mile. The next biggest thing might be the Future-liners.

There are also several large engines out there, built by GMG or GM, including a line of 12 cylinder boat engines.

I think the question was...what is the biggest bolt "ON" the bolt, as opposed to on "A" bolt!

Maybe it would be the largest truck on this site! smile

The larger series (450, & up) had only two headlights.

That is a cool big bolt!
But the Future Liners were pretty cool too. Do a Google on them sometime and do a little reading.

When I was in plumbing school I worked for the maint department on campus. Three dollars and fifty cents and hour !!! Well, anyway, we had a military truck from World War 2. I can't remember how many rear axels it had, maybe 2. But it was all wheel drive, had a canvas top on the cab and the steering wheel was made out of wood. One the back of the truck was a huge air compressor. On the days that I would show up for work with a hang over, my boss would send me out to jack hammer concrete. I got such a thrill out of driving that old OD green truck with those military tires and wooden steering wheel. It had no muffler and I tell ya that old six cylinder would really beller !! That was the biggest old Chevy Stove Bolt I ever drove !

Detroit Diesel General Motors of Canada builds the Light Armored Family of Vehicles (14 Tons) for the USMC (and various other countries) and the Stryker (more than 14 tons) for the US Army... 8 wheel drive, 70 mph!!!
