I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. However, I would like to understand the function of the brown wire and the brown white stripe wire.

Please educate me. I have included photos of the 1963 factory service manual wiring.
I’m trying to understand the purpose and function of the BROWN WIRE and the BROWN + WHITE STRIPE wire. I THINK the brown wire is a ground wire to the Voltage Reg. The BROWN wire runs from the voltage regulator L terminal to the cab instrument cluster GENERATOR warning light bulb. That warning bulb also has a PINK wire which clearly supplies 12V+ to multiple dash light bulbs that are conveniently grounded to the body of the instrument cluster. However, the generator bulb is NOT grounded to the dash. As the brown wire passes through the firewall, it is joined by a BROWN + WHITE STRIPE wire at the firewall disconnect. The BROWN + WHITE STRIPE wire travels from the firewall to the ignition switch. It seems the PINK wire supplies 12V to the dash lights, so I’m trying to understand what these other BROWN wires do, especially the one with the WHITE STRIPE.

I am carefully following the AAW Highway 15+ wiring kit instructions as I install all new wires in my 1963 C10. I have an internally regulated alternator, so the voltage regulator has been deleted from the truck engine bay. The AAW instructions clearly show how to wire the truck without a voltage regulator. I have a voltage gauge in the dash, so I don’t need a GENERATOR dash warning light. All this means that everything will work just fine if I follow the AAW instructions, but I still like to understand things.

The brown/white wire provides a ground for the idiot light anytime the alternator voltage is below battery voltage, illuminating the light, hence the "L" identification of the terminal on the voltage regulator. One of the terminals on the perimeter of the 10 SI internal regulated alternator serves the same purpose, so if you want the idiot light to function, connect the brown/white wire to the left terminal on the alternator as you look at the back side. The right side terminal gets connected to battery voltage.

I just realized that the PINK wire is not supplying 12V to all the dash bulbs. My bad. So things make more sense now. Thanks for the explanations.
