After some searching I have located one and is shortly enroute to me here in the UK.
I am having trouble decoding the vin, the decoder at American Classic truck, seems to make it a 1960. but its definately a 1948
anybody out there can help ?

VIN is a special uniform id numbering system that started long after that truck was built. If you take the leading zereos off your serial number and put them in the 'VIN Cruncher" at http://www.geekoasis.com/vincalc/ (Stovebolt approved) it does identify your truck as a '48 COE with 134 inch wheelbase made in Janesville, WI during June. Its useful to remember that truck plants outside the US often used similar but different coding schemes. That information is only correct if your truck was made in the USA.

I will post some pictures as soon as I can, but it may be a week or so before the truck gets here, in the mean time I will see if I can post a picture from the seller. What engine size did these trucks have? will it be the 216 or 235?
