Always want to thank the many folks who help make this site possible, from the volunteers, moderators and the participants helping in the forums.

There's a very special group who needs an extra big thanks from all of us. Especially given today's economy. big_eek These folks have dipped into their pockets and, after sorting out a few nuts, bolts and string, have tossed some cash our way to help us pay for the necessary things we need to keep this site going.

It's a new year and we got our first donation just the other day!

Ron "WE b old" Steltz
- Ron had three donations last year!

============================

HERE IS the 2022 list in the N&A forum. HERE IT IS on main Thanks page. thumbs_up

Another donation to acknowledge here.

This one was part of a friendly offer of a '59 1-ton by Victor "VEW" Walters. He designated that for the deal, make a donation to Stovebolt.

[This] was a win, win, win for everyone. The recipient got what he wanted; my wife got rid of what she wanted to (and it wasn't me!)
And, I met two new great guys, as I usually do at Stovebolt gatherings.
All of this made possible because of this wonderful site!

That was a neat deal!
Thanks all!

Speaking of Panels & Burbs, Mark's got his Burb in the Stovebolts at Work 2023 calendar. (See image on the left, in the column.) Very neat shot.

Thanks Mark!

Got another much appreciated donation from a long time Bolter:

Ed "Wally / Montana" Waali
"Thanks for the Legacy Bolter title! That means a lot. You'd think I would know more than I do!! I was going to put the Stovebolt Gathering of 2002 (I think) with Montana Andy, Cletis (and Pearl), Ken, Luke and Ivy in the Greasy Spoon. That goes waaaay back. Anyway, thanks for all you do!!! Keep on Boltin'."

I remember Wally (and many others) being part of the FIRST EVER GATHERING AT MONTANA ANDY'S (here's the fun story. It started all that stuff that took the "virtual" out of our "virtual garage" and from there it grew and grew! thumbs_up

Thanks for those memories.

Two more donations just this week:

Larry "Larry P." Parker
"Continued support of the Stovebolt Page. Your site continues to help me immensely in my 46 1/2 ton restoration. Thanks so much!"
Larry's working on an entry to post for his story. The little bit he's shared is great: "It has been in the family now for almost 77 years."

Alvin "Achipmunk" Parris - Alvin's second donation this year. Alvin is a Moderator for The Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters and The Legion Hall. Besides greeting new folks in the WC, he's working with his team getting the Southern Jamboree together for June 2-3.

Needs saying again:

Especially given today's economy. big_eek These folks have dipped into their pockets and, after sorting out a few nuts, bolts and string, have tossed some cash our way to help us pay for the necessary things we need to keep this site going.

An interesting donation that took a bit to unravel ... but sa-weeeet.

Hugh "kahoys" Wood - Fred Nixon, our Radio Bench Moderator, helped him out:

"A big shout out to Truckernix for his Outstanding Technical Expertise, Guidance and Patience in helping me get my original 1950 - 53 Chevy Truck am radio up and running."
(Can read those details here.)

Hugh did more than just "shout out." He made a very nice contribution to the site as a thank you to Fred.

"Payment to the Stovebolt site as a donation to help the site. Was going to forward that donation to Fred Nixon for his technical expertise working with me on-line to repair my 1950 Chevy truck radio. It is up and receiving stations as intended. Only through his efforts was this possible. He asked me to donate it to your site instead. Thank you all for providing a Tech site that allows us small guys like me the ability to restore our Stovebolts to their former glory. Again Thank you, Hugh."

Many winners here! Thanks to all. grin

Just so happens to be two Mississippi Bolters! How neat is that!?!

Donald "Southerntruck" Sessum - May

Mike "kades51" Mitchell - December
"For all you and John do, this doesn't even scratch the surface."

Some thoughtful donations. Both from some "freebies" that were part of dealings on the site.

Glenn Hart - donation for some parts that Tom "tom moore" Moore had listed in the Freebie section of Swap Meet. I think Tom still has some more there! Check to see.

Mason "stlcardinalsguy" Walker
- donation for some parts he got from Mick "Mick53" Israel (Lazy Hound Racing). Mick said he's got more stuff coming soon.
"The site and community are so incredible and packed with knowledge. I greatly appreciate all the work you all put in to keep the site alive!"

The Stovebolt Collective thanks everyone involved in these transactions. These do help keep things rolling in here.

"I demand a recount!!" (Should be five.)

In case anyone is wondering "What's with this guy??", I told myself I was going to donate once a month for every month of the year for this year. Why? I dunno, just seemed interesting to me. It is keeping me amused, anyway. I was a minute late with the April donation and got it in after the wire. Means I might have to do it again next year just to get that perfect record.

Oh dear. not me I fixed the error. It IS five donations. When this one came in last month, I figured I'd better keep track of your donations by marking the number in bold. I only looked a few lines up to see #2 and then #3. I went and fixed them all (in my Excel doc that is).

Sorry about that.

If keeping you amused means a donation every month, I thinks this will be way to keep better track. thumbs_up

Speaking of win, another donation coming from another calendar submitter:

Mark Sharp -- have his 1959 Chevy Fleetside pulling a 2011 Scamp Camper in the 2023 Stovebolt calendar. Here's that beautiful shot.
"Thanks for all you do to keep this great resource moving along. The donation is to keep the site humming along."

Thanks for the donation and compliment. The Stovebolt Collective does a good job of bringing in *resources* that make this a good source for sharing knowledge about the *find, fix, drive* for these old trucks. And we have have some fun in there, too.

Added one of Mark's photo's that we didn't use ... yet.

Another donation made during a recent get together by the Old Dominion Stovebolt Society (ODSS). Thanks to:

Jim "53 green 1- ton" Schmidt
"The "Thanks" is from me! This little thingy that the two of you nurtured from an idea, into the best automotive website, amazes me! The pair of you, brought neighbors that never knew each other prior, and introduced others from across this country and distant lands, together, in a common love! Old Chevy Trucks! So, " Thank You " for your devotion to STOVEBOLT.COM"

A very nice thing to say. John is really the "idea man" with a bunch of good people who have helped it to bear fruit. And as it grew, produced more fruit. How it has spread still amazes us. And does seem to have really connected people. It is definitely a "virtual garage" full of people that help to give the pizazz to this place -- for re-storing old trucks with bringing people together as a bonus. The Stovebolt Collective.

Another donation we are grateful for and wanted to say thanks on behalf of all Stovebolters that use the site.

Ronnie "Dusty53" Miller - This is Ronnie's second donation this year.
Just in May this year, Ronnie started as Moderator for the Tons o' Fun area in the Parking Lot. He quickly learned the ropes and agreed to help Sweet cover the Driveline forum in the Shops area. The Driveline is the second highest viewed forum (Engine Shop is #1).

Thanks for all you and the other moderators do. And thank, too, for helping get some bills paid.

More of the Bolters helping Bolters .. and helping us all.

Daniel "Danielbolt" Davidson
"As a thank you for the generosity of Tom Moore and many others. A thanks also for the relaxation and encouragement that Stovebolt gives me. This is such a wonderful website. It's this website that introduced me to the older bolts. I thought 67-72 was old when I got my first classic truck."
Daniel has a 1940 Chevrolet KC he's working on. He added: "I work in Civil Engineering research at the University of Arkansas, but I mostly work with graduate students inside our lab. I help build and set up large scale testing fixtures. A lot of machining and fabricating. We try to get our students to become self-sufficient so that's where my "shop teacher" moniker comes from. I'm incredibly fortunate to have access to so many high tech (and high dollar) equipment."
Daniel purchased some parts from "tom moore" (who stills has stuff listed in his post: "parts, parts, parts" in the Swap Meet's Truck Parts for Sale booth).

Thanks to everyone who is participating in Tom's effort, and helping Daniel get his '40 together. And glad to have a another *teacher* in here with years experience in CNC and Fabrication. thumbs_up

PayPal in / PayPal out (just got the November hosting bill). Thanks for keeping the books out of the red!

Have another to add:

Nick "NJC" Cavallaro - Nick's second donation this year.
"[This donation] is for maintenance for the Stovebolt website. I do enjoy looking at the varied topics pertaining to the 1974-1953 Chevrolet Advance Design (AD) pickups and Suburbans. Journaling is fun, too. Bringing back AD Chevrolets is therapy for the soul."

Nick has a 1952 Chevrolet Suburban featured in the Project Journals. He has quite a following there. thumbs_up

Thanks for the donation here and in the many ways you participate on the site.

Two donations came in yesterday. Big thanks!

Ron "WE b OLD" Steltz - Ron's third donation this year.
"It is my Thanksgiving gift because I am thankful for everyone on here who puts up with me. wave "

David "DavidBraley" Braley - David's got a 1953 2-Ton GMC. thumbs_up
"I am not very active on the Stovebolt, but I try to check-in everyday if I can. There are days when I see a post that helps me on my own project so much, I need to somehow repay it. You guys and gals do an amazing job.
"Setting aside the valuable resource and knowledge base that is present on the Stovebolt, I think the single most important thing I find about the Stovebolt community is how friendly and civil it is. There are a LOT of forums out there where people are allowed to be cruel to each other. I appreciate how you guys keep things under control.

Thanks to both of you for the donations, and to David for the thoughts he expressed at the site -- that keeps us encouraged. shake

Another thing WE are grateful for. Besides carrying the load, these folks throw in some coin to help pay the bills. This makes the second donation this week!

Big thanks to:

Gord "Gord&Fran" Hillsden - Gord is a moderator for the IT Shortbus and the BC Bolters. Unbeknownst to you, he's also the fellow who pulls up the stats for us each month, without fail. wink That's been a big help for us. We'll get some of those highlights out to you all soon.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we got another donation!

Big thanks to:

Donald "Southerntruck" Sessum - This is Donald's second donation. At least more than 4,000 of you had seen his Cruisin' the Coast pictures and videos that he took this past October (in the Southern Bolts Side Lot). The year before, he also participated in and covered the event. Over 10,000 Bolters had a chance to "virtually engage" with him.

Donald 's been a good supporter of Stovebolt. Last year he submitted his truck for the calendar - a beautiful 1953 5-window. You need to take a peak at it at his Gallery Forum thread. He now has a Stovebolt Flag and is anxious to fly it in all the events he goes to. The truck alone gets plenty of attention, we're sure. thumbs_up

Donald's been on watch in the Welcome Centre for any Southern Bolters that appear; especially those around the Mississippi coast. wink Some day, we'll have to join in the Cruise!

Thank you Donald for all of it.

Like Peggy says, thanks for contributing to the well-being of Stovebolt. BTW, I really envy a 5 window and the quality of this one. Many more safe miles. thumbs_up

Yesterday, we got another donation! Big thanks to:

Jeff "Rusty Rod" Backus - Jeff's THIRD donation this year. He's another moderator who contributes above and beyond. He's currently moderating the Electrical Bay, Panels & Burbs, Name that Part, and the Welcome Centre forums. Just last month we also asked him to take over the Whole Wild West forum since 69Cuda had moved to the "Rocky Mountain" region. (And Mike agreed to help Fibonachu over there. thumbs_up )

Jeff is another Bolter who has been with us a very long time and it's been great to let to know him as he was a regular at events, especially the KC Reunion in Kansas City. (Rusty did a good job keeping us laughing. wink ) He's got several trucks we've travel with him as he worked on them. An early Project Journal, his '67 Suburban "Kogai" is an interesting read.

In Jeff's signature line he put: "Another quality post" ... well, he is a "quality Bolter."

Thank you, Jeff!

We got a donation earlier this week. So an additional big thanks to:

Tim "tclederman" Lederman - Tim is another Bolter who has been with us a very long time. We're certain you've seen his posts, almost 32,000 of them, just about all in the Shops Area. We are fortunate for all he has to share. He has his own website dedicated to Advance Design trucks, and specifically the 1954. It's extremely well done and packed with information. Tim had also been a Moderator for us some time ago. It's easy to rack up thousands of posts just with that. (We're enticing him to come back ... Panels & Burbs is a easy match for him. But it may be that wrenching has taken a *bit* of a backseat to enjoying his grandchildren. Don't blame him with that one.)

Thanks Tim for the donation and all the time you share adding to the Stovebolt Collective.
