Yes, welcome to the Bolt! Agree with Rusty, hope you can figure out how to post pictures. If you need some help in that regards, the IT Shortbus can help with some already existing threads. Feel free to post in there if you need more help.
Welcome Centre is a chance to tell us a little about your truck (how you came about it; other fun facts like that) and a little bit about you.
Glad to have you with us. I think the Stovebolt Collective will be of help. Be sure to post your questions in the places around the virtual garage where they can be answered. If you come in to the Driveline bay, with wires in your hands, we'll scooch you (move the post) over to the Electrical bay.
You'll get the hang of it ... in no time.

Welcome to the’Bolt. You’ve come to the right place. There’s a wealth of knowledge here and many members eager to share that knowledge. Ask away. Please share some photos of your truck and any story behind it. We love that stuff.

If you’re on a PC look over to the left side of your screen. There are instructions there.

There's also a thread posted at the top of the Welcome Centre forum here (it's a "sticky). We have the "how to do it" for pictures a little here and there. We even have a *test* area in the Shortbus.

Thanks! She's mostly stock and I kinda want to keep her that way, except for some safety items: - Disc Brakes/Master cylinder - Seat Belts - Relocate Gas Tank
Also, I want to do the conversion to remove the "PVC" down tube.
Just a note that this forum is primarily for introducing yourself and your truck (nicely done by the way).
You will want to post separate "individual" questions in the appropriate forums (General Truck Talk, The Engine Shop, The HiPo Shop, etc.) that each topic most closely falls under. You will get the best responses to your questions if there are not multiple topics lumped together.
A good thought would be to read some posts in each of the forums to get a better idea of what might fall into what category. Then ask away.
Looking forward to future questions and conversations.

I picked up a 56 3100 which was completely stock except for a repaint in the distant past. I had the same safety concern about being able to stop vs slow-down-real-fast and installed power front disc brakes from CPP. The kit description said it would “bolt on” same as original, but I’m thankful I didn’t attempt to install it at the curb. Fortunately, I had access to a shop as there were a few things which had to be machined and massaged to fit and work properly.
Since that time I saw a post saying properly adjusted drum brakes were just as effective with just the booster and dual master cylinder. I really like the disc brakes, but In retrospect, I wonder if I wouldn’t have been just as happy with the power drum set up. A little less expense and trouble and it would have preserved more of the stock aspect which is desirable to me.
First I would like to welcome you to the ‘bolt! Nice looking truck and a great start on your project! As Dan has pointed out, posting in the proper forum is key to getting the help you need. You have found the best chevy truck site on the web. Your in good hands!
