The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline 1 ton spindle nut

I'm looking for some assistance with sourcing a spindle nut and washer for a 1958 Chevy 1 ton. When I went in to check the brakes and hub over I found one of the previous owners replaced it with the wrong nut and lost the notched washer. I have checked everywhere online and locally and can only find what I need for the 1/2 ton.

Or if somebody happens to know the size of the nut and thread I may be able to source it elsewhere. I forgot to take the measurements from the other side before handing it over to a friend who is trying to find one for me.

I checked gm part wiki and found you likely need part number 379656 (see attached image)
It is a 27/32-20 thread
1946 to 1958 all 3/4 and 1 ton use the same nut

And it looks like O’Reilly auto parts has them for $10 in California
But nothing beats original
I bet you could find it for nothing in a local junk yard

Thanks for finding that. I did not know of the wiki page until now. That is going to come in handy.

Also you are correct nothing beats original but many things beat a tire rolling by while driving down the road.
