A lot of Illinois people just put Illinois in there location. It would be interesting to see more information to see if any of us are near by neighbors. Wouldn't have to be exact location, just a general idea where you are located. Mine for example (80 miles west of Joliet IL.). Just a thought. What do you think? Dumb idea?

I live in Illinois but just say the St Louis Metro area since I can see the St Louis skyline from my house and most folks outside the area ask "where's that at" when I tell them where I live....joe

Far north side of Chicago - mot the best place for driving an old truck - 1/2 the people are in a hurry, 1/2 the people stare like they've never seen anything built before 1990.

I am three miles from the north border. Worked in Waukegan for several years.

Hoping to drive the old truck downtown Chicago some day.

Lived in the country near Irving for a few years when I was in the National Guard in Litchfield. Used to see a lot of good old cars and trucks for sale around there, just didn't have the time or money.

Just discovered this sidelot. Might as well refresh it now and then. I’m in Ottawa, Il. Had my ‘57 3200 for about 7 years.

Well welcome DES57 to the Great Lakes Side Lot. Hopefully some other Illinois Bolters will chime in. Do you go to many shows/events with the truck in your area?

I’ve only entered one as non-judged, but I do walk as many as I can. I don’t intend on mine being a show truck or trailer queen. My objective is just a nice daily driver, which it already is and continues to evolve.

Marseilles. Neighboring town to DES57! Glad to see all the Illinois friends on here. I'm working on getting my 49 3100 on the road, been working on it for about 5 years now. Finally putting everything back together as time allows. Mine's also not a show truck, original patina, new to me cab, original drivetrain. Get her on the road and then I'll worry about upgrades!

What a good turnout of responses here.

Wonder if someone in this audacious group has the ability to put together a map like the Heartland group has done. Shakey 61 may be able to give some insight on how to do it.

Always helpful to know how far away a Bolter Buddy may be. wave

Got them fixed -up with 16x4.5 original set of 4 wheels I had. Need to sell out some of my inventory.it's about to take over !! Told Gdads 51 I might bring some of it to KCM fall round-up.

This is all great to hear!! Glad to see "pulling out" some of these states in the region one by one is working out, even if just a little. Maybe someone will "pick" another state from the Great Lakes pot. thumbs_up

KevinS here fresh on the Welcome Board. We live between Champaign and Kankakee about 25 miles west of 57. Just trailered my 58 Apache home as a birthday present to myself. It’s a project truck for sure. I started disassembly and currently working on getting all the wood out. Since truckin' is new for me, I’m glad i found y’all.
