Just added Bertha to the Gallery. Love those working big bolts! Nice color, too!

Thanks, Peggy for adding me to the gallery. I forgot to add that the engine is original (292- 6cyl.) We just got some different tires and rims for it too. 6 tires & rims for $600. Got rid of the old split-rims. I have to take a few pictures of my '66 Chev 3/4 ton now that it's done (the wood bed), so you can get it in the gallery too.
Thanks for all the great work you do.
Ted.

That truck reminds me of a '72 C60 the lumber yard I worked at in high school had. I worked there as a "mechanic's assistant". (translation: the kid that got to change oil on diesel forklifts that had been running for 12 hours straight. ) The old 'bolt was their "backup" truck, and I got to do deliveries in it when they got too busy.

I ended up driving it quite a lot. And, after about 2 months, I was the *ONLY* person that could get it to start. Even my boss, a mechanic for 25 years, couldn't get it to fire. He worked on it once on my day off for 6 hours, changing everything he could think of. Not knowing this, I jumped in it the next morning, pumped the gas twice, fired it up and drove it to the load area. I couldn't figure out at first why everyone was laughing at me. I still remember my boss' face... grin

"Christine", as it came to be known, served the lumber yard for many years after I left. I lost track of it when the company went under (a victim of The Borg in orange, but that's another story)...
