Check out pistons for a Ford 370 V8 truck engine. Dualoy part # 1173D. The dimensions are close enough that a good machinist can make them fit. Custom made 302 pistons from Egge will make your checkbook need CPR. Jerry

The 370 is the smallest FF (385 Ford V8, like the 429 and 460), some sites list it incorrectly as FE (like 390, 428).
Bore 4.05", pin 1.039" (offset), piston compression distance 2.12".
$358.92 for a set of 8!!. that's $59.65 each for 6 (and 2 left over).
A shop that does a lot of 302 work could buy 3 sets (makes the machining much cheaper) and make 4 302 sets...

I'm also working on a long stroke version (4 5/16") of the Chevy 261 that uses 265 V8 pistons. That engine will approach 300 cubic inches with a bit of an overbore. Jerry

thanks for all the info. i couldn't find any, but didn't try the ford pistons, my machinist struck out also. i' think i'll just use the stock pistons they seam to fit the bore good and look hardly used. new rings show a end gap within tolerance. the engine may have been bored shortly before i got it. i bought 5 engines from a guy with some dump trucks, he had scraped the trucks and kept the engines. only problem is they were mostly apart in a big pile. it a 270 and going in a 31 chevy pickup. its just going to be a cruiser daily driver, nothing fancy. well 3- 2's RV cam, headers t-5 5spd.
