I posted this in the spoon, but not everyone checks in there.
I'm in the middle of the state, just north of Orlando. We're expecting lots of rain with this storm. The last storm in 2004 was Charley that took the same course through the state. Charley was a fast moving storm and didn't drop a lot of water.
I've pulled out my generator and started it. I have 6 cans of gas to cover a few days without power. The small outdoor stuff has been put up and the vehicles are full of gas.
We have plans for a trip to North Carolina on Sunday to enjoy the mountains. The VRBO is already paid for, so I hope all is well by then.
I've been through a bunch of hurricanes and I'm not worried. Everything is insured. I expect a lot of tree debris, so I'll check the chainsaw tomorrow.
Thanks for the well wishes.

Yes, Wayne, not that many go in there, even tho it has a lot of activity. Plus, the nice part of being part of an *area* group like this, it is more personal when stuff happens. Some of the Side Lot groups are close. Southerners are one of those.

Just now we had a chance to watch the Weather Channel. It does look like a doozie coming.

I guess we all will know more in the morning. Wayne, sounds like you are well seasoned for this kind of stuff.

Preparing for hurricane Ian. I was trained by the Marines to load vehicles in the hold of a ship. Embarkation clerk.
This works for my garage also.

Any updates? It looks like things are a big mess across the whole state. There's not a lot those of us further north can do other than offer encouragement, but if anybody needs a place to hide from the weather for a while, there's a hundred acres of south central Tennessee available! Hang in there!

Praying all are safe. They may not have power and/or cell service, access to computers. It may be a few days before we hear back from Wayne67vert.

We were bypassed for the most part by the strom. Had some wind but very little rain, some coastal flooding and bridge closures. Ian is moving up the coast to South Carolina, praying for all of you up there

Watching the recovery efforts in Florida, hope everyone there is safe.

We survived without any damage.
A trailer load of yard debris went to the county dump this am. Lost power for about 30 hours. The generator worked fine.
We're at Denny's having breakfast and using their internet. Ours is still out.
The areas south of us in SW Florida got hammered as I'm sure you've seen on TV.
All is well.

Glad to hear the news.

My brother is on his way with a neighbor, a bunch of tools, etc. to his place just north of Ft. Myer FL. The pix he sent of the trailer park (he is an Ohio Snow Bird) is really awful. Only a few places escaped. His was one of them. Only a corner of the roof peeled off. They are going down to help neighbors and anyone along the way. A retired USAF mechanic and home resto skills, he'll have plenty to do.

Praying for the safety of everyone.

Please keep posting updates!

All good here in Orlando, wind and a whole lot of rain but everything inside stayed dry.
