I have a 59 chevy that was a firetruck and am hoping to clean up the original paint but i believe it also has gold leaf since it was a firetruck. Anyone got tips on how to do this without ruining the gold? Also got a couple small spots to patch, any tips on blending those in?

You might consult one of those fancy custom pinstripe artists. They should know the best course of action, at least. No idea what they charge for their services.
