Just thought I would put this out there about the biggest car show that is annually (in October) on the Mississippi Gulf coast. It’s a full week of things to do and cars to see.
This year there will be over 9,000 spread out over the 26 miles of beach.
If you have never looked into it, you should. I’ve been every year since I completed my '53 5-window.
I bet this is an awesome event. The Mississippi Gulf is a beautiful area. When living in Alabama, road along I-10 a number of times.
Maybe some Bolters will meet up!
Thanks for posting this.

Well, Mike .... initially, John took me farther south to Milton, FL. Another chance to cruise along I-10 with a '70 Chevelle.
Next he took me East ... to Okinawa.
At least I was able to convince him to use Alabama as his "home of record" for the USMC.

When I sold my ‘48 Suburban streetrod a few years back it was to a gentleman from Alabama. Fighting cancer and wanted a mostly drivable project to have ready for him and his grandsons to do Cruising the Coast one last time. I really hope he made it. The truck was a Teal Blue pastel with a lot of billet aluminum parts.
Martin '62 Chevy C-10 Stepside Shortbed (Restomod in progress) '47 Chevy 3100 5 Window (long term project) ‘65 Chevy Biscayne (Emily) ‘39 Dodge Business Coupe (Clarence) “I fought the law and the law won" now I are a retired one! Support those brave men/women who stand the "Thin Blue Line"! Hug a cop! USAF 1965-1969 Weather Observation Tech (I got paid to look at the clouds)
I'll be there, have been to all of them. Sunday in Downtown Gulfport, Tuesday at cruise Central for registration and again on Thursday to cruise to all of the sites. 59 shortbed stepside Hugger Orange paint, with short kinda round guy, grey hair(whats left of it)and beard. I look forward to it every year.

Tommy, I will 👀 for you there, you and I are on similar schedules. My 53 Chevy synergy green truck should be as easy to spot as your hugger orange 59. I’ll be the other old grey haired guy. 😂

Hope you all will take some great pictures, getting in as much scenery as you can with the trucks. Nothing says "excitement" like a water view background with an old truck proudly in the fore. Or one of those mansions on the water. Are they still there?

Peggy, a lot of the beach front mansions that were washed away by Katrina have finally been rebuilt. It probably took ten years for that to happen. Still a very scenic 26 mile beach ride. Perfect for that many cruisers. 🚘

I can not wait to see. I was just so thrown back in time when we made the I-10 trip a long time ago.

Opps. Crazy me. I was really thinking of US 90. That's the road that runs along the water. Is it called Gulf Coast Highway?
I-10 is just another interstate. Like I-95 and Rt. 1, are very different.
We didn't do I-10. That'd be a snore.

That's great you are able to do the panoramic shots! Looks like a beautiful day down on the Gulf.
So, at some locations along the way, there will be some static displays?
I know it's just starting, but I'm guessing there will also be some news coverage? Of course, we have our Bolter on the scene. We'll be happy for a report from you as the days roll along.
Thanks for this first update. If you know what some of the pictures are, can you add that to the description (tag line) for the photo?

Peggy, this was pretty much about 12 square blocks of cars parking wherever they could in downtown. I will get some more Tuesday at Cruise central where a bunch will be parked under oak trees by the Gulf of Mexico.

Here are a couple news feeds from WLOX Biloxi about coastal city activity related to Cruising for anyone who might be interested in coming in the future. Just come with your lawn chair on the beach and watch hundreds of cars go by. Free!
Thanks for sending the news feeds. The last one about the RVs seemed to have the most trucks so far. LOL
Two cool things about that feed, besides the trucks, was a chance to see how close the road is to the water, and that one fellow's "home-made" RV. Clever.
Looking forward to your next update tomorrow. Wonder if anyone else has gone yet?
Thanks, Peg

Peggy, I did see Tommy briefly (he drove by where I was parked, we were walking around most of the time). I looked on the map and it was actually about 15 square blocks of cars. I am pretty sure I saw Tommy’s truck but he was walking around too.
It is so big they divide the registration by alphabet into 2 days Monday and Tuesday so I’m not doing anything today but will pick up my registration tomorrow at cruise central. There should be a lot of cars parked there too. I will post more pictures from there. 🛻

Lord willing and the creek don't rise (or a hurricane or him-acane), maybe a neat spot for a GABfest next year. A "come as you are" "pull in where you can," kind of week!
Makes me homesick for the Florida panhandle.
A nice string of Stovebolts. Pleasant dream.

So here is an update, there are already over 9000 classics registered as of tonight. The final total won’t be till the weekend. The first interesting picture is a US map showing how many participants from each individual state in the US. Sorry for it being kind of dark, under a tent with the bright sun behind it. On the bottom right as of 11:00 today there were 8500+ registered. I have a good 360 view movie from the bed of my truck, @ my parking spot but it seems to be too big a file to upload. Peggy, any suggestions? The 5 MB max maybe should be raised. The others are just various different pictures at the registration location. They had a exhaust flamethrowing contest tonight. You can probably see highlights on WloxHere are a few more on Flickr. Flickr

There are a lot of good images in that Gallery (official). I like the way the site shows "open" spaces where the next batch of images will go.
Have you submitted any of our pics?

This is incredible!! No editing required. I hope Alvin gets a chance to see all these. Maybe after his nap.

Having some drone footage is impressive. It was fun to see the people waving at the drove and those up ahead looking like they were expecting it. Maybe it was a large drone.
Much more efficient than the Go-Pro we used in the past.
Enjoying these posts immensely.

Record breaking Cruising!! Video below. Drove my 1953 by the Chevy Dealer while out Crusin in Diberville and Ocean Springs took a couple photos of it. I did not get any pictures today way to crowded.
Last night, John and I looked at your posts from the last few days. Hope the drone does more more video ... maybe slower! Some really nice shots and video. That wax was fun. (John ended up washing and waxing the '49 ... parade tomorrow!)
The picture of your truck at the big Chevy place is a calendar candidate.

Oh, a parade will definitely be fun. They had a parade of cars last Tuesday during Cruisin in Long Beach. I heard one person talking about having 9 boxes of throws for the parade. You would think it was Mardi Gras or something with all the bead throwing. Still trying to get comfortable in my truck idling for long times in traffic before I will do that. Yes my wife Gina will like that picture also to scrapbook it when she does my truck. I had to back up to get the whole building to get the picture I was looking for. I have another kind of straight on instead of at an angle.

Couldn't find the photos in the link. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place. Can you do a screen shop of where we need to look on the news site.
Thanx

Here are a few more picts from today, wrapping up Cruisin. Total vehicles registered 9618 for 2022 shown on the 1st picture showing each state participants.

I can't believe it's over!! That seemed to go fast.
I was thinking about the idea of truck shots with a water backdrop. Sweet.
