I have had my 53 3/4 ton stake bed for 36 years and just got it painted (2nd time). All original mechanicals, 216 c.i., 4speed, 6V 26K miles Runs great! I drive it every day.

They are original hubcaps, I painted them the proper gray for that year and applied decals from Jim Carter. I was skeptical about the 16K miles (when I bought it 36 years ago) so I went to the OK tax commission and looked up the old title transfers which have the mileage on them. It was consistent with the mileage on the odometer. Barely broken in. I was able to find the daughter of the original owner and asked about it. She said it was overloaded a few times but never hardly driven off the farm. Hauled a lot of hay. You could see where they chained down the bales and put it between two trees a little too narrow. If they only knew what it costs to pound those out! It is my buddy.
I have the 3 of the original hubcaps in good shape for my 52, finally found one in rough shape; repaired dents, rust and painted which then required painting the other 3. Of course I used the wrong color. Mine if I ask what color and source? As I understand painted steel reproductions are not available. I believe the 3/4 ton hubcaps are larger the 1/2 ton.
