I was looking thru Rock Auto parts and mistakenly ordered this boot, when I thought I was ordering the starter pedal bellows. Has anyone installed one of these (solenoid boot)? Were they original equipment? How do you install it if so? Is it just a protector from crud?

Unless you've got a Hydramatic transmission, or a passenger car starter for a vehicle with a key start, that part doesn't fit. It's for a starter with a magnetic solenoid, not one with a foot pedal. The two slots fit over the clevis that is pulled in by the solenoid plunger. Jerry
