I just bought two engines that I also need help to id. first is casting #3837004 with A16 6 behind the starter and the second is #3836233 but the starter is still on it so can't read the numbers. What is the max bore for these engines? One is already .060 over. Thank you in advance, Gerry Lee

51 3804 They now offer 0.080 over for the 261 it ends up 272 cu. in.

Fixite7, which of the 2 casting numbers would you choose to install 80 over 261 pistons?

buoymaker I don't know,I suppose the newest one,when I bored mine seemed able to handle it. Gotta watch for sand holes in the casting.
